Frequently Asked Questions
Learn how Celest Health works, what membership includes, insurance, and how we provide personalized, relationship-based care.
-
We provide healthcare for adults ages 18 and up, with particular attention to women's health across all life stages. With training spanning dermatology and internal medicine, we bring specialized knowledge to hormonal issues — such as PCOS, thyroid disorders, perimenopause, and menopause — along with weight management and skin care, recognizing how closely these areas are linked. Beyond this specialty focus, we deliver thorough, individualized primary care designed around each patient's unique needs.
-
Good healthcare isn't a once-a-year, 15-minute physical — it's ongoing attention and consistency. Think of membership like a gym membership: an investment in your long-term health, there whenever you need it.
Health can also change suddenly — illness, injury, an unexpected diagnosis. In those moments, you'll want a physician who already knows you and can respond fast.
Membership means direct access to your physician year-round, longer visits, minimal wait times, closer specialist coordination, and same- or next-day availability — in sickness and in health.
-
Absolutely. Here's a quick gut check: Can you text your doctor directly? Can you get in when you actually need to be seen — not weeks out? Does your appointment last longer than a few rushed minutes? Have you ever been blindsided by a bill because of your deductible, even with "good" coverage?
Insurance and quality primary care aren't always the same thing. At Celest Health, we offer what insurance-based care often can't: real accessibility, unhurried attention, genuine convenience, and complete transparency in what you're paying for.
-
There is a 3 month commitment contract. After that, you can cancel at anytime with a 30-day notice. If you decide to rejoin later, there is a $250 re-enrollment fee.
-
No — and that's actually by design. We've seen what insurance-driven care does: rushed appointments, treatment that reacts instead of prevents, and decisions shaped more by what gets reimbursed than what's genuinely best for you. So we chose a different path.
By stepping outside the insurance system, we're free to practice medicine the way it was always meant to be — unhurried, attentive, and built entirely around you. No middlemen, no billing codes steering your care. Just a direct relationship where every decision comes from one simple question: what's truly best for this patient?
-
We don't — and that's intentional. Unhurried, personalized care takes a little planning, so all visits are scheduled ahead of time rather than on a first-come basis. The good news is that scheduling is easy and fast: same- or next-day appointments are often available, and members can request a visit anytime through our secure messaging or online scheduling system. No waiting rooms, no long holds — just care that fits your life.
-
To protect a healthy work-life balance, only urgent or emergent needs are handled overnight, on weekends, holidays, or after hours. Any non-urgent messages are triaged and addressed the next business day.
-
We offer a concierge-level experience, but Celest Health is technically a Direct Primary Care practice, not concierge medicine.
The difference: concierge practices still bill insurance and charge copays on top of their fee, while we don't bill insurance at all — just one transparent monthly membership. That also makes us accessible to patients between insurance plans or under-insured, which concierge practices typically aren't. And unlike concierge retainers, usually paid annually, our membership is simple, month-to-month.
-
Yes, we'd still recommend keeping insurance. Celest Health membership covers your primary care, but it isn't a replacement for insurance. You'll still want coverage for things outside our scope: emergency care, hospitalizations, surgeries, specialist visits, and prescriptions. Think of it this way — insurance protects you from the big, unpredictable costs, while Celest Health membership gives you the everyday, proactive care that keeps you out of those situations in the future as much as possible.
If you're on a high-deductible plan, many members actually find our membership pairs well with it, since you get real primary care access without waiting to "use up" your deductible first. You may also be able to use your HSA card to cover your membership.
