About Dr. Sima Kavand

Dr. Kavand's path to founding Celest Health spans two countries, two specialties, and over a decade of caring for patients in some of medicine's most demanding settings.

She began her career as a dermatologist in her home country before moving to the United States in 2010. There, she completed a three-year research fellowship in hair disease/ dermatology and contributed to multiple published studies. She later completed internal medicine residency, became board-certified in the U.S., and practiced as both a hospitalist and primary care physician for 10 years.

In her years of primary care practice, Dr. Kavand found herself drawn to the patients who fell through the cracks — women managing perimenopause symptoms alongside skin changes or managing weight, thyroid concerns, and acne at the same time—often seeing multiple providers without feeling truly heard. Celest Health was created to change that.
